Okay, over the past few weeks there have been lots of things about which I've thought, "I should mention that on dullgloomy", but as you can see, it hasn't happened.
Today I went to The Bay to purchase something small. Very small. About the size of a DVD case, but 1/3 as thick. I went to pay for it, and can you guess what the gal did? She put it in a bag. A gift-bag-styled bag.
"That's quite a bag for this one thing," I said.
She just sort of looked up out of the top of her eyes and said something non-commital like, "Uh huh."
"Seems a bit excessive doesn't it?"
No response.
So I flipped the bag over and said, "I hope this is recyclable."
"I think it is," she replied.
Come on, people! It's so silly that I bought a pair of shoe laces at Walmart the other day and had to say, "Wait. I don't need a bag for that." And now a heavy-duty gift bag for one small thing? Yeesh.

It's remarkable. I totally agree. I often refuse bags now by keeping a reusable cloth bag handy. Every little bit, right?
You boys need purses (and considering what that small Bay purchase was, that shouldn't really make you feel that uncomfortable).
